A centrally located private residence designed to function as a place to spend time working, entertaining, but also as a city sanctuary. With an existing characterful architectural frame, the residence was painted in calm hues and natural timber floors were reintroduced. Layers of bold colours were added in the form of the furniture and lighting pieces chosen for each space. Pont Street spans two floors, with a reception room, kitchen, two bedrooms and bathrooms on the lower floor, and an attic space consisting of a bedroom and study above. To elevate all of the touch points, natural and tactile finishes are used throughout, such as unlacquered brass, textured glass and marble. While comfort has been prioritised in the choice of furnishings. The overall design is strongly rooted in the rituals, personal rhythms and everyday routines of the occupier. The result is a home that is both beautiful and functional, one that effortlessly accommodates a number of different ways of life.
